Must be spring

I pulled a grocery bag’s worth of garlic mustard today. But! one of my hepaticas is blooming!! I was sure they’d all been dug up by the squirrels and chipmunks, but one of them has lived!
Do you eat the garlic mustard? Ellen recently found out from this urban foraging book she’s proofreading that it’s edible.
Didn’t eat it, threw it away. I’m leering of eating stuff out of our back woods – we’ve found various dodgy construction debris back there, and I wouldn’t be surprised if previous owners also dumped used motor oil and who knows what. So I’m just throwing it away.
We did eat a bit I found growing nearer the house, as part of a spring herbs hollandaise. It was pretty bitter, actually.
But if Ellen would like to try some, I know about a million places it can be had.
(Do you know the name or author of the book, btw?)
David Craft, and the book is just called “Urban Foraging”, I believe. He self-published a first edition, and she’s looking it over so he can make changes for a second edition, also self-published.
